Mandy regularly runs poetry workshops for adults and young people. As a guest author in schools she works with all Key Stages. She provides INSET through projects such as the Poetry Society's Poetryclass and The Poetry Trust. For the past two years, Mandy has taken part in the Barbican's ‘Can I Have a Word' project which invites schools and poets to work within the context of current art exhibitions. Her work with children has been featured in the TES.

As part of Literaturetraining Mandy runs workshops for writers, and through MUSE (a creative writing project based at Manchester Metropolitan University) she facilitates workshops for young adults and CPD sessions for teachers who wish to use poetry in the classroom.

Training

Mandy also delivers training based on her most recent book Our thoughts are bees: Writers Working with Schools (co-written with fellow poet, Jean Sprackland). The sessions - designed for teachers, writers and literature coordinators - explore the practicalities and potential of the work of writers-in-schools. More about the book can be seen at www.wordplaypress.com

Consultancy

Mandy works on a freelance basis writing articles and educational material. She is a contributor to the A&C Black's Poetry Writers' Yearbook 2007 and Universal Verse's Guide to Poetry for Children. She is a selector for the Children's Poetry Bookshelf and is one of the judges for their next national Children's Poetry Competition.
